VINCENZO'S

THEY CALL HER
"Lover Girl" . .. manicur-
ist at the Honeywell Bldg.
Barber Shop . . Best reason
is because that's her name
. . . Shelley Lover.
CONGRATS TO . . . Eva
and Morris Sukenic on their
46th wedding anniversary.
THE SARKO ZIDE, etc.
safari will be on its way,
July 1 . . . en route from
here to the July 3 San Fer-
nando Valley wedding of
Debbie Zide, daughter of
former Detroiters Arline
and Mickey Zide, now a Hol-
lywood director, to Phil
Kleinbarth. . . She is the
granddaughter of localites
Bessie and Lou Sarko . .
and Sylvia and movie dis-
tributor Jack Zide.
About 40 people, all rela-
tives one way or another, in-
cluding some coming from
•Israel, will meet at the
parking lot of Town & Coun-
try Club on Southfield... and
bus it to Metropolitan Air-
port for the West Coast via
American Airlines . . . 450
people are expected at the
wedding . . . after which
the Detroit contingent of
eight Zides and the rest
Sarkos in some way, will
join 30 more in San Diego
to make it a 10-day wedding
celebration . . . The Del
Coronado Hotel there won't
be the same!

LESTER DRILICH wants
to write a book and call it
"Behind The Gold Balls"...
He's a pawnbroker with a
big story to tell . . . so very
unbelievable, too.
EVERY SO OFTEN,
the Raskin and Schwartz
family gets together . . .
not like they used to any-
more . . . but once in a
while, at least.
Thank Heavens the latest
was a simha, and a big one
as coustri Dave Schwartz
had a 60th birthday party
given him by wife Marilyn,
at Tam-O-Shanter Country
Club . . . Marilyn had
planned the- 120-people af-

fair for months, saved her
dough, and woke up that
morning with a shocking,
"Oh! It's here!"
Everything at Tam was
in very good taste for
Dave's birthday party . . .
excellent service, delicious
food and good music . . .
On the wall were blowups
of Dave as a child, student,
soldier, his marriage to
Marilyn Lightstone, Tam
president in '63, golfer and
photo as The Godfather.
Among the many not fam-
ily there were close friends
Lois and Sol Landau. . . Sol
was an usher at Marilyn
and Dave's wedding in 1947
and long before that went
to Hebrew school with
Dave . . . There were mem-
bers of a poker club he has
been with for 20 years, golf-
ing buddies, etc.
Everyone had a good
time except a gent who was
escorted out because he
was drunk . . . and unin-
vited . . . Great to see the
family again.
NOW THAT MOTHER'S
Day and Father's Day are
over . . . how about plans
for a Children's Day? . . .
Ever stop to think that with-
out them there wouldn't be
any mothers or fathers?
SORRY FOR THIS,
FOLKS. . . definition of ille-
gal . . . a sick bird.
IF YOU LIKE realism at
its best . . . and want to see
some of the finest camera
work ever, don't miss "A
Bridge Too Far" . .. This
is probably the top true war
picture made . . . action-
packed throughout . . .
Those who know the terror
of war will appreciate it
even more. . . like the
World. War II paratroopers
who sat in front of us at its
recent premier and said,
"Everything is so real!". .
. The acting is superb.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY . . .
to a real swell gal . . . our
mom . . . Mrs. Minnie Ras-
kin.

SO OUR NEPHEW,
Barry Rosen. . . er, Dr.
Barry Rosen, excuse
please, is married. . . Hard
to believe this is the same
young man we've seen
grow up. . . and it was off
to New Jersey for the wed-
ding with glows of hap-
piness from sister Lil on
down as he traipsed the
aisle. . .
It's now Dr. Nancy and
Dr. Barry Rosen. . . and
the bridal procession had
plenty of medical know-
how, too. . . with Dr. Jeff
Belkin, Dr. Don- Blum and
Dr. Sue Roach, all from
this area . . . Barry's best
man was brother-in-law
Norm Gussin, not a doctor,
but somebody they all need,
a good CPA . . . Occasion
was at the beautiful Braid-
burn Country Club in Flor-
ham Park, N J Plenty
of joy for everyone . . . a
lot of fun in elegantly organ-
ized festive occasion of
pure reality.
