on Tuesday, that the Feder-
al Bankruptcy Court had
this week accepted a plan
for the payment of unse-
cured creditors and dis-
charged the institution from
the bankruptcy action.
The plan provides for pay-
ment of 100 percent of the
creditors' claims over a pe-
riod of years.
The synagogue originally
filed its petition on June 5,
1975 when it could not come
to terms with the general
contractor that completed
the building in Farmington
Hills at a cost of more than
$4 million. At that time the
synagogue was also in
default on its mortgage pay-
ments.
The approval of the plan
and discharge of the syna-
gogue came after a reins-
tatement of the mortgage
by the mortgage lender -
and a settlement with tl
general contractor.
Despite its past financial
difficulties, the synagogue
managed to operate without
cutting back any of the tra-
ditional services provided
to its membership.
Since June, 1975, the syna-
gogue's membership has in-
creased by 200 families.
El Al Crackdown Stops Air Strike
TEL AVIV (JTA)—El Al,
long plagued by strikes and
work slowdowns, cracked
down on maintenance work-
ers who walked off the job
Saturday demanding a
shorter work week.
The airline announced
that it would- suspend any
employe who did not report
for duty and threatened to
furlough all of its workers
without pay, subject to gov-
ernment approval.
The outgoing Labor gov-
ernment indicated it would
approve the airline's action
and as a result, all flights
departed from Ben-Gurion
Airport on schedule Sunday
morning, except for one
that was cancelled.

a report to the JDC Reli-

Addressing more than a

schools have a waiting list.
They could increase their
enrollment if they had
more space."
Key issues, he said, are
the need to improve and en-

increase funds for mainte-

critical shortage of qual-
