Betty Weinberg, former
president of the Criterion
Club, died June 9 at age 69.
Ms. Weinberg was a mem-
ber of the Business and Pro-
fessional Chapter of Bnai
Brith Women, contributing
editor to the Criterion Club
publication, The Pace Set-
ter; and held nearly every
major office in the singles
club. She resided at 10004
Lincoln, Huntington Woods.
She leaves two nephews,
Kenneth Davidson and
Larry Weinberg; and two
nieces, Mrs. Arnold (Sha-
ron) Gold of California and
Mrs. Howard (Carol) Siegr-
ist.

Dr. Alvin S. Yarrows, a
practicing physician and
surgeon for 35 years, died
June 12 at age 61.
A native Detroiter, Dr.
Yarrows was on the staffs
of Zieger and Botsford Gen-
eral Hospitals. He was a
member of Perfection
Lodge of the Masons. Dr.
Yarrows had made his
home in Nor 1 Miami
Beach, Fla., for the past
year.
He leaves his wife, Ruth;
a son, Steven; a daughter,
Mrs. Kenneth (Carol) Fink;
a brother, Herman. Inter-
ment North Miami Beach.

Sol Behrendt, 76

Sol Behrendt, retired vice
president of Peoples Out-
fitrting Co., died June 9 at
age 76.
Born in Detroit, Mrs. Beh-
rendt held his post at Peo-
ples for 47 years. He was a
coach for the St. Alphonsus
Boxing team and a coach
for the Catholic Youth Or-
ganization basketball
league.
He leaves a son, Oscar;
three dauthters, Mrs. Wil-
liam (Farah) Velazquez,
Mrs. Otto (Betty) Mon-
asterski and Mrs. Gerald
(Adele) Rapaport of Chi-
cago. Ill.; 11 grandchildren
and four great-grand-
children.
