The celebrants' happiness %kill have an added aspect two nights later, as an echo of their more than 20 years of services for the handi- capped which became their life's work and for which they have been highly hon- ored in Michigan. On Tuesday evening. in honor of their golden wed- ding. Philip and Faye Sills will be hosts at a dinner, also at Hucks Bavarian Vil- lage. for 60 handicapped children from the Plymouth Center for Human Devel- opment. Emil Huck. the res- taurant owner. who has co- operated with the Sills in their sponsorship of similar events for the needy, is co- operating in arrangements for this anniversary gift for the children. This is really the heart of the story related to the Sillses idealism. Mrs. Sills has to her cred- it 13.000 hours of services for the children in the Plymouth Center and Mr. Sills' is an 8000-hour record. Mrs. Sills was awarded the coveted Heart of Gold Award in 1972. In 1976, she and her husband were hon- ored by the Elks with the Citizens of the Year Award for their many services for needy children. Half blind herself. Mrs. Sills seldom failed to attend to the volunteer services :at the Plymouth Center on an average of three to five days a wekk. She secured gifts for the children. made parties for them, enter- tained them at dinners and the functions she sponsored for many of them at Uncle John's Pancake House drew attention to that restaurant and the joy that was provid- ed there for under- privileged. MrS. Sills commenced these activities nearly 25 years ago at the Fort Cus- ter State Home. She has earned an honorary mem- bership there.
