negated a popular view that
the televsion personality
was always merely the
man of /tension, always
fighting for something or
against something. Albert'
represented the family view
of sorrow that was as-
suaged by pride in a broth-
er's rise to national recogni-
tion, in his home city of De-
troit, in seven other major
American cities where his
voice was heard twice week-
ly, and in the high political
and government circles.
