NJ Adopts Anti-Boycott Rule TRENTON, N.J. (JTA )— A bill to bar New Jersey firms from complying with the Arab boycott of Israel was signed into law by Gov. Brendan Byrne. who said the new measure rein- forced the state's stance of opposing all forms of dis- crimination. The state Civil Rights Commission, which will en- force the new law, has power to award triple dam- ages to an "aggrieved party." A spokesman for Inger- soll-Rand Co., a major pro- ducer of pumps, coma pressors and drills for inter- national trade. said the new law was an "unnecessary" restriction on business and that it would cost New Jer- sey companies up to $500,000 a year in lost trade. `Gay Bill' Repeal Urged by Aguda Jerusalem Blast Injures Six MAIMI—A drive to re- peal the Dade County "Gay Rights Ordinance" when it comes up for a referendum vote on Tuesday, has been launched by the Commis- sion on Legislation of the re- cently-formed Agudath Is- rael of Florida. Rabbi Moshe Feinstein called upon everyone to vote for the repeal of the Dade County Homosexual Ordinance because "It is a harmful infringement upon the rights of the individual to protect his family integri= ty and a severe blow to basic principles of educa- tion." According to the chair- man of the Legislative Corn- er mission of the Florida chap- ter of Agudath Israel, Dan- iel Retter, this bill compels schools to hire homosexual teachers and requires that a family rent to an avowed homosexual couple under threat of a jail sentence andor fine. Rabbi Feins- tein's call was issued as the president of the Union of Or- thodox Rabbis of the United States, appealing to Jews to "mobilize friends and mem- bers of congregations to vote for repeal on June 7." TEL AVIV (JTA)—Six persons were injured when a bomb exploded in a- gro- cery shop near the Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Je- rusalem at noon last Satur- day. One Canadian tourist. James'Lindsay, 29, of Nova Scotia, was hospitalized for a leg wound. His condition was not serious. Three Jews and two Arabs who suffered minor injuries were treated at a first aid station and released. Police said the bomb, a pipe filled with explosives. was concealed in a loaf of bread.
