The meetings were de-
scribed by PLO sources as
the beginning of contacts by
the PLO with "progressive
Israelis who recognize the
national rights of the Pales-
tinians" and that "ques-
tions related to the common
struggle were discussed."
Further talks are planned
for the future, the announce-
ment added.

in the year 1977, under their
own auspices, on behalf of
their members and in trib-
ute to an honoree of their
choice, in commemoration
of the 10th anniversary of
the reunificaticin of Jerusa-
lem.
These synagogues will re-
ceive a special plaque,
"The United Jerusalem
Award for Congregations."
The award, a large walnut
shield, will be engraved in
the name of each participat-
ing synagogue and its
