Great Scott!, the Michigan Divi- sion of Allied Super- markets, Inc., operates 75 stores and will be the first major supermarket chain in Michigan to offer con- sumers trading stamps in several years. "Great Scott! will remain fully competitive with other supermarkets," board chair- man Ear. W. Smith said, "and will issue S&H Green Stamps as a consumer bonus. We will increase our sales and reduce operating expenses more than enough to pay for the stamps. For example, we will shorten store operating hours eight percent to reduce operating costs."
