There will be pediatric pa- villions and a kidney dia- lysis unit which will "look as unlike a hospital as pos- sible." The kidney dialysis unit was a special project of the Detroit Friends of Shaare Zedek Hospital and the group is encouraging indi- viduals to raise funds for various hospital needs. Approximately one-third of the $40 million cost of the new 500-bed facility s being funded by the Israeli government and its people. The remaining funds are being raised throughout the world. The old Shaare Zedek Hos- pital is 75-years-old and Je- rusalem's population tripled in the last decade. It is ex- pected to double again in the next 10 years. The new facilities were planned to service the growing popu- lation. SMALL BEQUESTS BUILD A STRONG ISRAEL If the tradition of including the Jewish National Fund in the Will of every Jew were invariably followed, sufficient resources would be accumulated to ensure the future of the young Jewish State on a sound basis of land development, social welfare, and justice. A bequest to the Jewish National Fund should be as traditional as having a Blue Box in one's home. You may want your bequest to be dedicated to afforestation, to a village, a Nachlah, to a children's play area, to perpetual yahrzeit or kaddish, or to some form of permanent tribute in the names of persons dear to you.
