Born in Lemberg, Ga-
licia, his parents brought

Adolph Trost, chief engi-
neer for 30 years of Inde-
pendent Metal Products Co.
of Amaha, Neb., died May
6 at age 72.
A native of Czechoslova-
kia, Mr. Trost retired in
1969. He was a member of
Temple Emanu-El. He re-
sided at 24875 Towne Rd.,
Southfield.
He leaves his wife,
Paula ; a daughter, Mrs.
Richard A. (Leanne)

NEW YORK-Harry Le-
vine of Cambridge, Mass.,
prominent industrialist, phi-
lanthropist and Zionist lead-
er, who was a founder and
major supporter of the Weiz-
mann Institute o_f Science,
died April 30.
He helped finance funda-
mental institute research
programs in fields of ap-
plied science in medical,
chemical and biochemical
interests. nuclear physics.
food production and eco-
logy.

Frederick Stern,
Exposed Nazism

NEW YORK-Frederick
M. Stern, non-Jewish au-
thor of "The Junker Men-
ace," an expose of the roots
of Nazism, died last week
at age 87.
A native of Germany, Mr.
Stern served in the German
army during World War I
after studying law and eco-
nomics. He became an exec-
utive in the German chem-
ical industry after com-
pleting military service. He
moved his family to the
U.S. in 1937 to escape from
the Hitler regime.

Emanuel Scherer

NEW YORK-Emanuel

Scherer, a veteran Jewish
Socialist labor leader, died
May 3 at age 75.
Mr. Scherer became ac-
tive in the Socialist move-
ment in his native Poland
and later joined the Jewish
Labor Bund. He co-edited
several Polish language pub-
lications of the Bund. includ-
ing Unser Zeit, the Bund's
monthly magazine. He also
was a vice president of the
Jewish Labor Committee.

ren, a Clarkston podiatrist,
died May 10 at age 29.
Born in Detroit, Dr. War-
ren earned a BS degree at
Michigan State University
in 1970 and was graduated
from the California College
of Podiatric Medicine in
1975. He served his resi-
dency at the Park Memo-
rial Hospital.
He leaves his wife, Mary
Lou; his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert (Jeanette)
Warren; two step-children,
Bradley and Bryon; a sis-
ter, Ellen Gale; and his
grandmother. Mrs. Fannie
