Friends of Shaare Zedek
Hospital to Have June Dinner-
The Detroit Friends of
Shaare Zedek Hospital will
celebrate the 75th anniver-
sary of the Jerusalem facil-
ity and hear progress re-
ports on the new medical
center, scheduled to be com-
pleted in 1978, at their an-
nual dinner at the Sheraton-
Southfield Hotel on June 29.
The new hospital, costing
$40 million, is being built on
a site opposite Mt. Herzl.
The facility will have 500
beds, • an underground emer-
gency hospital, a school of
nursing for 180 students,
two out-patient facilities, a
research center, clinical-lab-
oratories, a labrary, and a
synagogue which will also
serve Beit Hakerrem -and
Bayit Vegan.
The Detroit Friends of
Shaare Zedek Hospital have
endowed the the dialysis
unit and the rehabiliation
workshop at the new hospi-
tal as part of the world-
wide fund-raising campaign
that has raised $24 million
for the hospital.
