nbloom Memorial Lecture
of Adat Shalom Synagogue
8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the
synagogue. He will speak

on "The Autobiography of
Yiddish."
Born in Radzymin, Po-
-land, Singer is the scion of
a long rabbinic chain. Al-
though he was a student at
the rabbinical seminary in
Warsaw, he chose to work
as a journalist for the Yidd-
ish press. In 1935, he came
to the United States and
began his literary career
with the Jewish Daily For-
ward.
Long ago, Singer adopted
Yiddish as his medium of
expression. His "Satan in
Goray," "The Slave,"
"Enemies" and so many'

Lubavitcher Rebbe to the
DP Camps in Germany
after World War II. Spirit-
ual leader of Cong. Sherith
Israel in Nashville for 25
years. he is the founder of
the Hebrew day school
there. He has translated
many classic Hasidic
works.
The concert. will feature
accordionist Eli Lipsker
from New York accom-
panied 'by the Kol Yisroel
Band.
Guest of honor will be Ar-
thur M. Lang, noted Detroit
attorney who will be cited
"for his active involvement
in the Jewish community
for the past 50 years."
