A practicing pharmacist
who has memberships in

pharmacy-related and com-
munity organizations, Kut-
nick is a former vice presi-
dent of its men's club.
He was chairman of the
synagogue's 60th anniver-
sary dinner and served on
the congregation's house,
ushering, catering, games
and Israel Bond com-
mittees.

Speaker Lauds Rabbis Council
at Anniversary Dinner Event

The Council of Orthodox
Rabbis of Greater Detroit
was praised by its guest
speaker Sunday evening at
its 48th annual dinner, held .
at the Jewish Community
Center.
Rabbi Macy A. Gordon of
Teaneck, N.J., brother of
Rabbi James I. Gordon of
Young Israel of Oak-WoOds,
said that the achievements
in community solidarity
and adequate control of the
essential requirements of
an Orthodox group must of
necessity entail day-to-day
prosaic chores which ulti-
mately lead up to the goal.
He said leadership can be
viewed as a source of dis-
cipline, guidance and secur-
ing allegiance to that which
traditional Jewry deems im-
portant in the conduct of a
wholesome Jewish commu-
nity. Another view is that
the leadership is responsive
to the community's spirit-
ual status, it reflects the
deep roots of loyalty to sa-
cred heritage which al-
spokesmen to give voice
