Oak-Woods and Bnai David Name Israel Bond Honorees

Rabbi James I. Gordon of
Young Israel of Oak-Woods
and Mike Must, past presi-
dent of Cong. Bnai David,
will be honored by their con-
gregations at Israel Bond
tribute dinners com-
memorating the 10th anni-
versary of the reunification
of Jerusalem.
Rabbi Gordon will re-
ceive the "United Jerusa-
lem" Award at Young Is-
rael of Oak-Woods, 6:30
p.m. May 18. Dinner chair-
man is Sol Lessman.

mediate past president of
the Religious Zionists of De-
troit (Mizrachi) and former
editor of the Rabbinic Coun-
cil's Sermon Manual. He is
currently vice president of
Vaad Harabonim of Metro-
politan Detroit, an execu-
tive member of the Jewish
Community Council, a gov-
erning board member of
Jewish Welfare Federation,
an executive member of the
Jewish National Fund and
chairman of the Metropol-
itan Division of the Allied
Jewish Campaign.

Morris Lieberman, chairman of the Israel Histadrut
Campaign of Metropolitan Detroit, has announced
that Louis Levine, co-chairman of the Histadrut
Labor Zionist Alliance Division, who has given active
support to the Histadrut for many years, will be
honored with a testimonial dinner on the occasion
of his 75th birthday June 23 at Congregation B'nai
Moshe in Oak Park. The tickets for the dinner will be
125 per couple and reservations may be made by
calling the Histadrut office at 851-0606, or by calling
Isadore Brown at 288-5926, Sonia Popowski at 557-
3994 and Milton Oleinick at 968-2668. Persons who
wish to pay tribute to Louis Levine may best do so
by making a contribution to the Louis Levine Hista-
drut Scholarship Fund, which will provide urgently
needed scholarship help to needy youngsters hop-
ing to attend the Histadrut's Vocational High School
in Ramie, Israel. The dinner committee is now in the
process of being formed and individuals wishing to
be included may do so by calling the Histadrut
office. Following the dinner and presentations, the
evening of the celebration will include a concert by
the well-known, celebrated Cantor Danto of To-
ronto. The principal speaker of the evening will be
the national executive vice-president of the National
Committee for Labor Israel, Bernard B. Jacobson.
