the board of overseers of
Bar-Ilan and he and Frieda
received honorary fellow-
ships. The Stollmans are
among the founders of
Akiva Day School and do-
nated funds for a kindergar-
ten for the school. He is on
the board of trustees of
Young Israel of Oak-Woods.
"The Max and Dorothy
Shaye Forest" was estab-
lished in their honor at the
JNF Testimonial Dinner
last year. The Shaye Forest
is in the American Bicenten-
nial Park.
Shaye served as general
chairman of the Allied Jew-
ish Campaign in 1971 and
was president of the Jewish
Family Service, the Detroit
Service Group, the Detroit
Food Council and of Frank-
lin Hills Country Club.

Retarded Program
Director Named
The Jewish Community
Center announced the ap-
pointment of Charles
Shanaman as co-ordinator
of the Center's programs
for the retarded.-
Shanaman has worked
part-time at the Center for
the past 11 years, and was
an adviser in the programs
for the retarded club and a
human sexuality educator.
He is also a teacher of the
educable mentally impaired
for the Berkley Public
Schools.
Shanaman holds a BA de-
gree in special education
and recently completed his
MA degree in guidance and
counseling.
He succeeds Dori
Smargon. •
