The Pro Mozart Society
of Greater Detroit was
founded in 1960 and was the
first of its kind in the
United States. Among the
co-sponsors are the South-
field Arts Council, the
Music Study Club of Metro-
politan Detroit, the Tuesday
Musicale, the Austrian So-
ciety and the G.T.E.V. Edel-
weiss.
Proceeds from the con-
cert will be directed to the
International Foundation
Mozarteum in Salzburg for
the publication of Mozart's
opera "Cosi Fan Tutte" to
the text of Lorenzo De-
°Ponte.
In 1956 the Mozarteum
started to work on a new
and scholarly revised edi-
tion of the more than 600
compositions of Mozart. So
far 80 volumes have been
published. The 56th score is
Mozart's greatest opera,
"The Magic Flute." Its pref-
ace states that the only Mo-
zart organization in the
Western Hemisphere, the
Pro Mozart Society of
Greater Detroit, made its
publication possible.
For tickets to the May
concert, write Francis M.
Dodge, vice-president and
treasurer of the Mozart So-
ciety, 561 E. Jefferson, De-
troit, Mich. 48226.
