Fund Is Boosted
With Cutler Gift

A $5,000 gift made ,this
week by A.J. Cutler will
make possible additional
scholarships for youths to
study in Israel with the aid
of the Zionist Organization
of Detroit Scholarship
Fund.
The new Cutler gift was
announced in his behalf this
week by his representative,
Maurice Axelrod.
The ZOD Scholarship
Fund, which operates
under the name of the Phil-
ip Slomovitz ZOD Scholar-
ship Fund, provides scholar-
ships for selected students
who are enabled to pursue
their studies at Kfar Silver
and the Mollie Goodman
High School at that agricul-
tural settlement near Ashke-
lon in Israel.

by Cutler in the Philip Slo-
movitz Scholarship Fund,
said it indicated the ben-
efactor's appreciation of
the values of encouraging
youth to study in Israel.
"Welcome Mr. Cutler's gen-
erous contribution as a
great aid to an important Zi-
onist task in Israel," Dr.
Mandel said.
Scholarships also are pro-
vided for a number of De-
troit youths during the sum-
mer in camps operated by
Midwest Zionist organiza-
tions.
A.J. Cutler recently an-
nounced generous gifts, es-
tablishing chairs in all of
the Israeli universities (see

Morris Lieberman, chairman of the Israel Histadrut
Campaign of Metroploitan Detroit, and Harry Laker,
president of the Pinsker Progressive Aid Society,
have jointly announced that the Society's project,
which is part of Histadrut's medical network of
