"Life is hard—Life is
even harder for the 79 mil-
lion obese people in the
United States and harder
still for the 10 million dia-
betics."
Lois goes on to tell what
these people face
daily...overweight contrib-
uting to health problems—
seriously linked to life-
threatening cardiovascular
causes, gall bladder disease
and diabetes.
She asks that those who
are against the govern-
ment's stand on saccharin
voice opinion to their repre-
sentatives in Congress.
JOE ROSANDVA'S musi-
cal quintet, Vineyard, is
held over until April 30 at
Top 0' The Pontch in Hotel
Pontchartrain.
Their "today's music" for
dining and dancing can be
heard Tuesday through Sat-
urday, beginning at 8
p.m....Top 0' The Pontch,
on the 25th floor, is the only
spot downtown that still
offers the classic supper-
club dancing to live bands.
IF A DAIRY restaurant
is opened in the Metropol-
itan Detroit area, it may be
by Rose and Irving Gut-
tman of Irving's on Green-
field and 11 Mile...They'd
keep their highly successful
deli, of course...but also
have a 50 or 100 seater for
the other.
Those who know say you
couldn't tell the difference
that no meat. would be used
in Rose's "fried chicken",
"hamburger", "spaghetti -
and meat balls",
etc...Rose's- salmon patties
are today a very big favor-
ite at Irving's...along with
its other many goodies.

ANOTHER SIGN OF

spring was recent launch-
ing of Sunday Brunch at
Chuck Muer's River Crab
restaurant of St. Clair
River...It is served from
10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m....with
prices ranging at $5.75 for
adults and teenagers, and
$2.95 for children age 4-
12...Kiddies 3-and-under are
free...River Crab, formerly
Fisherman's Wharf, is on
N. River Rd., two miles
north of St. Clair, Mich.
IT'S JUST A little place,
seating about 75, but people
from everywhere love to
eat at Rina's Italian-Ameri-
can restaurant on Schaefer,
couple blocks south of Fen-
kell.
However, best recommen-
dation is that owners Ann
and Enzo Conte and their
three children love to eat
there...The folks who come
from everywhere to eat
pizza, pasta, steaks, veal,
chops or seafood, know the
quality and goodness put
forth in both the food and
cocktails...The Detroit
scare is a big farce, says
Ann, , whose well-lighted
parking lot beckons all
seven days a week for din-
ner...Rina's is a noted lunch-
eon standby, also.
Enzo does all the cook-
ing...and here Ann claims is
her downfall weigh-
twise...She can't take off
any poundage because he
wants her to sample all the
food...It's great for the cus-
