of a $115,900, three-year
grant has been awarded
to Yeshiva University's
Belfer Graduate School of
Science by the National
Science Foundation, in
continued support of on-
going research conducted
by Drs. Charles A. Berger
of Piermont, N.Y: Lewis
A. Coburn,.. formerly of
Ann Arbor, and Arnold
Lebow, formerly of De-
troit.

Coburn, the joint re-
search project, entitled
"Operator Theory and
Functional Analysis,"
gives a theoretical basis
for the solution of dif-
ference equations in -sev-
eral variables with non-
constant coefficients.
Such equations arise in
many different areas of
application, notably in
fluid dynamics.
The grant is the second
of two consecutive

initiated in 1972 and re-
