Katzir to Address
Zionist Convention

JERUSALEM—The presi'
dent of the state of Israel,
Ephraim Katzir, will attend
the opening session of the
80th National Convention of
the Zionist Organization of
America in Jerusalem
.(July• 6-13) and will also ad,
dress the convention ban-
quet to be held in Tel Aviv.
The invitation to Presi-
dent Katzir was extended
by the executive director of
the ZOA, Leon IlUtovich.
Chairman of the convention
committee is Jacques Tor-
czyner, a past president of
the ZO4.
The convention will in-
clude a pilgrimage to the
Western Wall, celebration
of the 25th anniversary Of
ZOA House in Tel Aviv, a
visit to Garin Masada, a
ZOA supported settlement
of Americans in Western
Galilee, a Convention Day
on the ZOA Kfar Silver
Campus and dedication of
new ZOA projeCW*' —

The annual Isaac M. Wise
Sabbath, sponsored by the
Metropolitan Detroit Feder-
ation of Reform Syna-
gogues, will be observed at
8:30 p.m. April 8 at Temple
Beth EL
This service com-
memorates the birthday of
Rabbi Wise, founder and
master builder of American
Reform Judaism, and spirit-
ual leader of Congregation
Bene .Yeshurun in Cincin-
nati. Rabbi Wise was in-
fluential at Detroit's
Temple Beth El during its
transition period from an
Orthodox synagogue to a
Reform temple. He visited
Detroit in 1856 .and dedica-
ted Beth El's house of wor-
ship in 1861 and 1867.
The guest speaker will be
Rabbi Levi A. Olan, past
president of the Central Con-
ference of American Rabbis
and rabbi emeritus of
Temple Emanuel in Dallas,
Texas. Rabbi Olan will
speak on "Liberal Judaism
in a Post-Liberal World."
The participating temples
and rabbis will be : Beth El,
Richard C. Hertz, Dannel I.
Schwartz and Jeffrey B.
Lazar; Beth El, Flint, Ger-
lid Schuster; Beth El, Wind-
sor, Jonathan V. Plaut;
Beth Emeth, Ann Atbor,
Ralph D. Mecklenburger;
Beth Jacob, Pontiac, Jef-
frey L. Ballon; Temple Is-
rael, Detroit, M. Robert
Syme, Harold S. Loss and
Leon Fram; Emanu-El, Mil-
ton Rosenbaum and Lane
Steinger; Kol Ami, Ernst J.
Conrad; and David S. Hach-
en, regional rabbi, Union of
American Hebrew Congre-
gations.
The liturgical Music will
be rendered by the follow-
ing cantors and choirs: HarL

field and Temple Beth El
Choir, Norman Rose and
Temple Emanu-El - Choir,
