Chaifman of Bnai Brith's
national commission on
adult Jewish education, Dr.
Sidorsky is a professor- of
philosophy at Columbia Uni-
versity. He earned his PhD
degree in philosophy at Co-
lumbia and studied Jewish
history and literature at the
Jewish Theological Semi-
nary and the Hebrew Uni-
versity in Jefusalem.
Author and lecturer on
Jewish affairs, Dr. Sidorsky
is the author of many arti-
cles in social and political
philosphy.
Dr. Sidorsky is a consult-
ant to the American Jewish
Committee's task force on
the American Jewish fu-
ture.
His appearance also is
sponsored by the Berry fam-
ily. The public is invited.

On the occasions of his
50th anniversary as a
temple -administrator, and
his 70th birthday,_ Irving
Katz, executive secretary
of Temple Bath El, will be
honored by the congrega-
tion at a testimonial dinner,
6:30 p.m. May 12 in Handle-
man Hall of the temple.
Katz was born in Dvinsk,
Latvia in 1907. He received
his Hebraic training in Eu-
rope and his university edu-
cation in Cleveland. Katz
also received ordination as
a rabbi.

synagogue administrator
and educational director of
Oheb Zedek Congregation
in Cleveland, and from 1936
to 1939 he served in a sim-
ilar capacity at Anshe
Emeth Temple in Young-
stown, Ohio. In 1939 he be-
came executive secretary
of Temple Beth El in De-
troit.
Katz is involved in many
national and local organiza-
tions. He was a founder of
the National Association of
Temple Administrators,
and served as its first presi-
dent. He is especially ac-
tive in the Reform move-
ment on the national and
local level.
Katz has received cita-
tions and honors from
many of the groups with
which he has been active,
and he is a frequent contrib-
utor to many publications.
