But the executive director
of the temple, Sheldon
Mills, said the suit involved
a contractural obligation,
not religion.

The conference was spon-
sored by Wayne County
Community College, The
National Association of
Arab-Americans and the
Bank of the Com-
monwealth, which is con-
trolled by Arab investors.
ShAwaf told . the audience
that the boycott was "not
racial, not religious." but
did not mention Saudi de-
mands for proof of religion
when requesting a visa to
visit or work in Saudi
Arabia.
According to Detroit Free
Press business writer Eric
Sharp, the speakers spent
most of their time asking
the audience to get involved
in efforts to block Congres-
sional anti-boycott legisla-
tion.
Dr. Reginald Wilsqn, pres-
ident of Wayne County Com-
munity College, said the
meeting was organized as
part of the college's effort
to provide education for De-
troit's Arab American com-
munity, which he said num-
bered 150,000.

TUNISIA (ZINS)—The
local newspapers report
that the health of King
Khaled of Saudi Arabia,
who underwent heart sur-
gery in 1972, has consid-
erably worsened lately. The
king is presently under in-
tensive care at a hospital in
London.
Surgeons there feel that
the king has to undergo a
second operation, but be-
cause of his poor condition
it cannot be undertaken.j
The king may have to ab-
dicate because of his ill-
ness. If that should happen,
there exists the danger of
an outbreak of a civil war
in Saudi Arabia over the
man who will inherit the
throne. Arab diplomats say
that in the large, inter-
twined royal family there is
serious opposition to Crown
Prince Fand, whom many
consider as not entitled to,
nor worthy of, inheriting
the crown. -
