He earned his PhD degree in philosophy at Co- lumbia and studied Jewish history and literature at the Jewish Theological Semi- nary and the Hebrew Uni- versity in Jefusalem. Author and lecturer on Jewish affairs, Dr. Sidorsky is the author of many arti- cles in social and political philosphy. Dr. Sidorsky is a consult- ant to the American Jewish Committee's task force on the American Jewish fu- ture. His appearance also is sponsored by the Berry fam- ily. The public is invited. On the occasions of his 50th anniversary as a temple -administrator, and his 70th birthday,_ Irving Katz, executive secretary of Temple Bath El, will be honored by the congrega- tion at a testimonial dinner, 6:30 p.m. May 12 in Handle- man Hall of the temple. Katz was born in Dvinsk, Latvia in 1907. He received his Hebraic training in Eu- rope and his university edu- cation in Cleveland. Katz also received ordination as a rabbi. He was a founder of the National Association of Temple Administrators, and served as its first presi- dent. He is especially ac- tive in the Reform move- ment on the national and local level. Katz has received cita- tions and honors from many of the groups with which he has been active, and he is a frequent contrib- utor to many publications.
