Air Society, now in its 76th
year, for its camping pro-
grams, Camp Tamarack at
Brighton and Ortonville,
Agree Outpost in Canada
and Camp Kennedy.

The Brighton camp is for
youth age 8-10, while the Or-
tonville facility serves chil-
dren age 11-15. High school
youth have the opportunity
to take advanced trips in
northern Michigan and Can-
ada.
The FAS also reports
there are still openings for
the position of counselor.
Camp Tamarack employed
more than 330 high school
and college-age students
last year. Students are re-
cruited from seven colleges
in five states.
In an effort to acquaint
the campers with Jewish
communities in other lands,
' the FAS will bring in 20
British and 16 Israeli stu-
dents to act as camp staff
in summer. Persons wish-
ing to house a foreign stu-
dent on his free day are
asked to call the FAS of-
fice, 851-7733.

Presents Paper

Former Detroiter Dr.
Julius M. Gardin of Beth-
esda, Md., presented an ab-
stract entitled, -Echocar-
diographic Evaluation of an
Older Population Without
Clinically Apparent Heart
Disease," at the American
College of Cardiology Scien-
tific Session recently in Las
Vegas.
The son of Abram Gardin
of Richard St.. Southfield,
Dr. Gardin was joined by
Drs. Walter L. Henry, Dan-
iel D. Savage and Stephen
E. Epstein of the National
Heart, Lung and Blood In-
stitute, in researching the
abstract.
Dr. Gardin will join the
cardiology faculty at North-
western University in Chi-
Cagb` iii June.
