Doctor Gives
Heart Advice

TEL AVIV (ZINS) --
Professor Morris Levy,
head of Beilinson Hospi-
tal's cardiology depart-
ment, counsels his fellow
Israelis to change their
eating patterns if they
wish to avoid heart dis-
ease. Last year, accord-
ing to Dr. Levy, 70,000 Is-
raelis died as a result of
heart ailments, and
25,000 suffered 'from
heart trouble.
Levy's' formula for reduc-
ing the danger of heart attack
is to stay away from high
cholesterol foods (milk, eggs,
butter) and cut down to a
consumption of not more than
2,000 calories a day. Walk
instead of drive. Although
vigorous exercise, per se, is no
guarantee against heart dis-
ease, he added, it does help in
improving the cardiovascular
system whose response to any
heart attack is critical.
The professor goes on to
say that, so far, there is
no scientifically validated
proof that nicotine is
hazardous to the heart.
The incidence of heart
disease in Israel is about
the same as 'that of
America or Western
Europe, said Dr. Levy.

The afikoman is eaten at
the end of the seder as a re-
minder of the paschal lamb
which was eaten at the end
of the meal in Temple
times, so that its taste
would remain in the mouth.

In thankful celebration.

A special feeling...

Proudly grace the seder table

Wondrously alive and vital.
