He was assistant direc- tor of health and physical education for the Jewish Community Center in Rochester, N.Y., and di- rector of health and phys- ical education at Centers in Lynne, Mass. and Camden County, N.J., be- fore joining the Detroit Center's staff in 1959. Basch is the author of articles on health and physical education, de- signed physical education equipment, and partici- pated in numerous train- ing programs; including the 1973 Health and Physi- cal Education Institute in Israel. Basch has won every award given by the Center Camera Club and was promoted to a Salon Class Photographer by the Greater Detroit Camera Club Council. Basch will be responsi- ble for expanding and de- veloping programs, in addition to supervision of the 10 Mile branch physi- cal education program.
