Mr. Cheifetz was active in efforts for Yiddish journalism and in the former Geverkshaften Campaign. Mr. Cheifetz was the curator of the archives of the Jewish Legion and the director of Bet Hag- dudim — Jewish Legion Museum — in Avi-chail. He led visitors through- out the museum and cor- responded with Jewish Legion veterans. Dr. Tabuer organized a department of. modern languages and social sci- ences at Bronx Commu- nity College and with the aid of the Ford Founda- tion, developed Operation Second Chance and the College Discovery Pro- gram.
