Jewish Groups in Detroit Volume Vol. 11 of "Ethni-city, a Guide to Ethnic Detroit" has just been published by the Michigan Ethnic Heritage Studies Center of Wayne State Univer- sity. The Jewish Community Council helped provdde information for the book's "Jewish" section. In addition to sections on other ethnic groups, the book lists Jewish or- ganizations, synagogues, schools, restaurants and bakeries. City of Hope Unit to Gather Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Group, City of Hope, will meet 8 p.m. Sunday in the Franklin Pointe Apts. club house, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Buddy (Ruth) Nathanson. Oakland Century Lodge Cites Marian Shifman at Dinner Oakland Century Lodge of Bnai Brith will present its annual "Spirit of Bnai Brith Award" to -Marian Shifman at a 6:30 p.m. dinner Tuesday at Adat Shalom Synagogue. The award is pi;esented to a Jewish person making "the most outstanding contribution" to the Jewish community of De- troit, according to the lodge. Mrs. Shifman, the first woman honoree of the lodge, is vice chairman of the Jewish Community Council.
