Danny Raskin's

LISTENING
POST

SEVERAL YEARS AGO,
doctors around the coun-
try gave Eva Finlayson
only 10 percent chance of
recovering from a serious
illness . . . As a last re-
sort, she went to Henry
Ford Hospital . . . and
from a 94 pound patient,
Eva came out a healthy,
good-looking woman . . .
There was nothing in the
world she could give as
enough payment for her
life . . . so has dedicated
herself as a volunteer
worker . . . aiding the
Jewish patients at Ford's
. . . counseling, helping
when possible with their
problems and being just a
wonderful lady to have
around . . . Eva Fin-
layson found life . . . and
happily gives as much of
it as she can to others.
CO-CHAIRMEN HAVE
been chosen for the 1977
National Convention of
Alpha Zeta Omega
Pharmaceutical Frater-
nity . . . being hosted by
Detroit's chapter . . .
Gary Helper, Lou Linden,
and Nate Pack will head
the July 10 through July
14 shindig at Michigan
Inn . . . over 400 conven-
tioneers representing
about 2,000 registered
pharmacists from around
the country.
DON'T WAIT UNTIL
the last minute and be left
out . . . Orders are being
taken for that great Lox
Box . . . delivery to your
door Sunday morning,
March 6 ... by Glenriwood
Chapter of ORT . . . Eat
hearty with bagels, cream
cheese, lox, etc. while
knowing you're helping
others in need . . . Boxes
are for two, four or six
people . . . This is a very
fine thing, folks, so call
Judie Weinstein for orders
or info, 541-5456:
OVERHEARD . . . "My
girl and I split up because
of religious differences.
She worshipped money —
and I didn't have any."
FELLOWS DOING such
a fine job in the dermatol-
ogy department at. Henry
Ford Hospital include
three community-ites
and two New Yorkers . . .
Dr. Mike Frank, son of
Esther and Hy Frank of
Flint; Dr. Allen Tesser,
son of Francis and
Charles Tesser; Dr. Bruce
Lynn, son of Ethel and
Robert Lynn ... and eas-
terners Dr. George Wein-
berger and Dr. Marc
Shapiro.
BIRDIE AND HAROLD
August have two reasons
to celebrate their wed-
ding anniversary . . . the
"I Do" session was on
Harold's birthday, April 3
. . . Because of Passover,
this lovely couple will fete
their 50th occasion with
friends and relatives on
April 24.
SHILA MORGANROTH
enters into the limelight
again . . . this time with
her proven theory. that
youngsters who want
their hair colored
shouldn't be discouraged

-9111.111111111111"
, .
--

if it is done professionally
"It does so much for
their morale," says Shila,
whose hair styling is now
set up at Crimpers
Beauty Salon on Orchard
Lake between 13 and 14
Mile . . . Shila's belief
that parents should
realize the importance of
it being done profession-
ally has been acclaimed
by experts and psychiat-
rists . . . Her hair color-
ing clinic for children is
the firSt of its kind any-
where . . . although Shila
hasn't let her other cus-
tomers down by not tak-
ing care of them.
COMMITTEEMEN in-
volved in the Randy Kahn
Steam Benefit Nite by
Knights. of Pythias, De-
troit Lodge No. 55, March
14, at Darbys Stanley

Mond, p.c. and Herman

Kerner, arrangements
and Bernard Bolton,

Nice to hear that past
chancellor Barney
Kasofsky is back to work
again for the K of P lodge
he loves so much . .
Barney is behind helping
needy Jewish folks on
Passover with wine,
matza, etc. . . . collecting
tax deductible donations
through Detroit No. 55 for
Mo'os Hitim.
WITH THE BIG swing
toward disco parties, Joe,,,
Cornell sticks toward the
real thing by using re-
cords at his place on
Greenfield and 10, or that
Of others . . . including
party directors.
COMMUNITY LASS'
mother had a bad habit of
referring to her two
daughters by age, rather
than by name, when talk-
ing to people who didn't
know them . . . One
daughter answered the
door recently when her
insurance agent and a
handsome young trainee
rang the bell . . . The
young fellow watched her
without batting an eye as
she left the room . . . To
break the ice, the agent
commented on the piano
and asked the mother if
she played . . . "No, my
16-year-old daughter
does." . . . The lass over-
heard, but said nothing
. . . When some of her
friends dropped in that
afternoon, she remarked,
"Come into the kitchen. I
want you to meet my 52-
year-old mother."
TO ALL THE folks who
want to know when Sid
Hudson is coming to De-
troit from Las Vegas . .
it's March 9 . . . He'll.be
holding court, as usual,
the next morning at
Max's Delicatessen on
Southfield and 13 Mile for
all his friends to say hello.
