1st Family Planning Clinic in Isi-ael Opens in Jaffa •

JAFFA — A family
planning clinic, the first
of its kind in Israel, was
opened in Jaffa recently,-
the Jerusalem Post re-
ported.
The clinic, jointly oper-
ated by the Kupat Holier
sick fund and the Health
Ministry, is in a neigh-
borhood which has many

large families, many of
whom reportedly have no
knowledge whatsoever of
family planning.
The 12,000 residents of
the quarter will be able to
avail themselves of the
professional services of a
team comprising a physi-
cian, psychologist, nurse
and a social worker. The

team will be under the di-
rection of the maternity
ward of the Jaffa Gov-
e•nment Hospital.
Prof. Vaslav Insler, di-
rector of the ward, said
that an anthropological
study had been conducted
in the quarter two years
ago. The study included
