BY HEIDI PRESS Concert flutist Eugenia Zukerman takes candles- ticks with her while on tour so that she can ob- serve Shabat wherever her tour schedule leads. "Shabat was a large part of my life, - she said. Interviewed this week in advance of a perfor- mance with her husband, Pinchas Zukerman, re- nowned concert violinist, to take place Tuesday evening at the Detroit In- stitute of Arts, Mrs. Zukerman talked about the couple's ability to practice Judaism despite a . heavy world concert schedule. Rodeph Shoiom in New York where she learns Hebrew and Israeli songs. "I want my chil- dren to have a basis in re- ligious knowledge," Mrs. Zukerman said. She added the couple plan to take their two children to - Israel to learn how the Is- raelis celebrate Sukkot and the major festivals.
