Campaign Distribution Formula Announced;
Chairman Reports $8 Million Pledged to Date

The Jewish Welfare
Federation has adopted
its formula for distribu-
tion of funds to be raised
in the regular segment of
the 1977 Allied Jewish
Campaign-Israel Emer-
gency Fund.

At a meeting last week
of the Federation board of
governors, a "ceiling" of
$11,500,000 for Campaign
funds was approved, upon
recommendation of the
executive committee.
The formula provides
that funds raised by the
community above the
ceiling are designated for
the Israel Emergency
Fund. The United Jewish
Appeal and its programs
thus receive income both
from the regular Cam-
paign (allocations to
overseas agencies) and
from 'the IEF.
According to Martin E.
Citrin, Federation presi-
dent, the pre-Campaign
decision will thus make
available a total of
$5,125,000 to be used for
all domestic programs.
In a report to the gov-
ernors on the progress of
the campaign to date,
1977 General Chairman
Daniel .M. Honigman re-
ported $8 million in
pledges. Dulcie Rosen-
feld, campaign chairman
of the Women's Division,
said that $1,200,000 in
pledges has been tabu-
lated so far in that divi-
sion.
Honigman and Mrs.
Rosenfeld also an-
nounced that they were
encouraging business
and professional women
to enroll in Campaign di-
visions that reflect their
interests and exper-
tise.
