Guest speaker, Ze'ev Sher, Israel's economic minister to the U.S. and Canada, reporting that nearly 70 percent of every Israeli tax dollar goes for defense, appealed for greater financial aid to benefit Israel's humanitarian and educa- tional needs. Sher said that Israel has to remain strong "militar- ily and economically. Only a strong Israel can and will negotiate peace." He told the members of the audi- ence that through their Bond investments they are helping to achieve peace in the Mideast.
