Lewis' Henry Ford Biography
Considered for Pulitzer Prize

Dr. David L. Lewis'
biography of Henry Ford,
which includes a corn-.
plete account of the
anti-Semitic activities of
the senior auto magnate,
leading up to his appol-
ogy, is being considered
for a Pulitzer: Prize.
"The Public Image of
Henry Ford", published
by the Wayne State Uni-
versity Press, is one of 130
biographies published
this year under consider-
ation for the $1,000 prize
in that category of writ-
ing, one of five
classifications in tht
Pulitzer contest. '
Lewis' 598-page book
quickly sold out its first
2,500-copy printing. A sec-
ond printing of 2,500

copies is now in produc-
tion, and WSU officials ex-
pect it to sell out within six
months.
Sources at the Pulitzer
Prize office at Columbia.
University say Lewis'
book is being seriously
considered by the
Pulitzer committee along
with John Toland's recent
biography of Adolph Hi-
tler.
