City of Hope Unit
Will Hold Meeting
Louis G. Allen, left, president of Manufacturers Na-
tional Bank, will be a special guest at the State of Israel
Bonds Inaugural Prime Minister's Club luncheon recep-
tion, to be held 12:15 p.m. Jan. 10 at the Standard Club in
the Detroit-Cadillac Hotel. Allen has recently returned
from a National Bankers Mission to Israel, where, as a
guest of the Israeli government, he met with top Israeli
banking and government leaders to discuss, from a
banking viewpoint, Israel's problems and their possible
solutions. Phillip Stollman, one of five Prime Minister's
Club members who are hosting the Jan. 10 reception,.
announced that the event will have the distinction of
being the nation's first such occasion geared toward the
1977 renewal and enrollment of Prime Minister's Club
memberships. Other co-hosts for the reception are Mer-
rill Gordon, David Pollack, David Holtzman and David
Hermelin. Shown with Allen are Israel Prime Minister
Yitzhak Rabin, center, and Mrs. Allen.
EAST BERLIN (JTA)
— East Germany is pre-
paring for the centenary
marking Albert Eins-
tein's birth. It will be cel-
ebrated in March 1979.
The East German gov-
ernment has set up a spe-
cial committee which will
assemble Einstein's
manuscripts, rearrange
the archives available at
the Berlin University and
restore the small house in
the village of Caputh,
south of Berlin, where
Einstein spent several
years.
TEL AVIV — Israel will
definitely be barred from
the 1978 Asian Games in
Bangkok, the president of
the Thai Olympic Com-
mittee told last
weekend's meeting of the
Asian Games Federation
executive. The ban is "for
security reasons."
