Mrs. Doris Gleit of
Southfield, at 81 years
old, is an active volunteer
for Jewish National
Fund. Blue Boa chairman
of Masada Chapter of
Hadassah, Mrs. Gleit
drives her car all over the
Metropolitan Area to
clear Blue Boxes. She has
collected more than $350
in the recent box clear-
ance.
A native Detroiter,
Mrs. Gleit remembers her
parents, Lasar and Anna
Trunsky, who were
strictly Orthodox and
practiced tzedakah.
A widow for nearly 25
years, Mrs. Gleit has
worked as a saleswoman,
and owned a men's haber-
dashery in Highland Park.
She worked till she was 77
and retired only about
three years ago. She has
no children.

from the Jewish Commu-
nity Council of Tampa 16
months ago has enabled
the Council of Jewish
Women to purchase a bus
to transport elderly citi-
zens to and from ap-
pointments with doctors,_
religious services, social
activities and shopping.
Initially serving 50
people monthly, the serv-
ice has grown to accom-
modate more than 500 el-
derly citizens each month
who telephone their
transportation needs to
the Jewish Community
Center.

During his Detroit visit last week, Dr. Martin
Luther King Sr. expressed appreciation for aid given
him in his home community of Atlanta, Ga., in the con-
duct of the civil rights movement on a local and national
basis. He said his Jewish associates contribute im-
mensely towards the advancement of the cause of just
rights for the blacks. Dr. King visited with his niece,
Betty Hill, and her employers at Paul's Cut Rate Drugs
on Broadway, Joseph Deutch, left, and his son, Harvey
Deutch, who now manages the drug store, one of the
oldest in the Detroit area.

The Metropolitan De-
troit Israel Bond Execu-
tive Committee, in re-
sponse to Israel's call for
$6(1 million in December
to help meet Israel's 1976
development budget, has
set Sunday as the dead-
line date to collect more
than $1 million as De-
troit's pro-rated share of
the national commit-
ment.
The Israel Bond office
will be open 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday and officers of the
Executive Committee,
the Israel Bond leader-
ship of many organiza-
tions and the entire pro-
fessional "staff will be av-
ailable. Refreshments
will be served.

Germans Offer
Eilat Flights
BONN — Since the Is-
raeli government has de-
cided to allow charter
flights to Eilat, various
German travel agencies
will include it in their
next winter program.
ADAC began operating
weekly charter flights to
Eilat from Dusseldorf,
Frankfort, and Munich
since the beginning of
November.
