UN 2-6455 —BEER & WINE- IT WAS LIKE any other innocent day of New Year's Eve . . . 25-year- old Randy Kahn, son of June and Aaron Kahn, was using the same hair dryer he had so many times before used after a shower. But this didn't turn out to be any other day before what was to be a festive evening with his bride of only six months, the former Julie Soffin . . . Randy's hair dryer sud- denly wreaked electrocu- tion havoc with him. This handsome young man with a whole world of happiness in front of him was suddenly thrown into cardiac arrest, which caused severe brain dam- age from lack of oxygen . . . He came out of a deep coma and has weathered 15 infections, thanks to being, a healthy young man . . . The assistance of his 'angel of mercy" sister, Iris Kahn, a cer- tified inhalation therapist, has been be- yond measure. So many groups, mostly Jewish, were quick to say, "too bad", but that was all . . . organizations that Randy and his parents be- longed to included . . . Perhaps they didn't realize the severity of the situation . . . Jewish communal organizations couldn't possibly not help in a most dire calamity like this ... or could they?
