Women's Pre-Campaign Meeting
Draws A Record 150 Persons

the $500 minimum contribution meeting hosted by Do-
reen and David B. Hermelin. According to Mrs. Rosen-
feld, the turnout was the largest ever for this annual
pre-Campaign large-gifts meeting.

Harvey Weisberg Will Chair
Chatham Bond Dinner Jan. 9

kets, rnc., has accepted
the dinner chairmanship
of the first major food in-
dustry corporate dinner
on behalf of State of Is-
rael Bonds in Michigan.
The Chatham Dinner
will be Jan. 9 at Fairlane
Manor in Dearborn. Hon-
ored at the dinner will be
Bernard Weisberg, presi-
dent and chief executive
officer of; Chatham, who
will be the recipient of Is-
rael's highest civilian
award, the Prime Minis-
ter's Medal.
"There is a growing
recognition," Harvey
Weisberg said, "that
beyond making profits, a
corporation must con-
sider its responsibilities
aito the community and
participate in causes and

jipPliaracter. A corporate
dinner which will benefit
the sister democracy of
the state of Israel is a
prime example of such
public endeavors.
To acquaint food indus-
try leaders with the Israel
Bond program, three in-
formational cocktail re-
ceptions and meetings
were held last month at the
Michigan Inn, with more
than 100 firm representa-
tives attending. .
The honorary chairmen
for the dinner are Peter
Weisberg, founder and
chairman of the board of
Chatham; Governor Wil-

liam G. Milliken; U.S.
Senator Robert R. Grif-
fin; U.S. Senator-Elect
Donald W. Riegle; U.S.
Congressmen William S.
Broomfield and Lucien N.
Nedzi; Max Ratner, pres-
ident of the American-
Israel Chamber of Com-
merce; David Pollack,
general chairman of Gre-
ater Metropolitan Detroit
State of Israel Bonds;
Standard C. Stoddard,
president, Michigan Na-
tional Corp.; and Paul
Zuckerman, president,
United Jewish Appeal.
More than 1,000 leaders
in the fOod and related in-
dustries are expected to
attend the Corporate
dinner.

Steinberg Joins
Sinai Board

Robert A. Steinberg
has been named to the
board of trustees of Sinai
Hospital of Detroit at its
annual corporate meet-
ings.
Steinberg will serve a
five year term. A former
chairman of the Allied
Jewish Campaign, he is a
board member of the
Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion and is vice president
of the Jewish Home for
the Aged.
He is a past president of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek and
president • of the
Synagogue Council of
Greater Detroit. He also
is a member of the
Knollwood Country Club
and the Standard Club.

Scoliosis Is Topic
of Parents Meeting

A
discussion

scoliosis will be held 8
p.m. Jan. 6 at John F.
Kennedy Elementary
School, Southfield.
The meeting will fea-
ture Dr. Ann Rasche,
pediatrician; Dr. Alvin
Crawford, orthopedist;
and Betty Graham, a
