Party at Youth Home

The Flint Jewish Com-
munity Council Lapeer
Visiting Committee,
headed by Esther Harris,
held a Hanuka party with
gifts and refreshments
for the Jewish children at
the Lapeer State Home.
Assisting Mrs. Harris
were Betty Elford, Fan-
nie Sorkin, Blanche
Dunayer, Bessie Ring,
Rabbi Judah Fish and

Plaque Dedication Saturday

Cong. Beth Abraham-
Hillel will dedicate its
past presidents plaque at
Shabat morning services
Saturday in the
synagogue.
Rabbi Israel I. Halpern
will conduct a dedication
ceremony assisted by
Cantor Shabtai Acker-
man and the synagogue
choir led by Associate
Cantor Israel Fuchs.
Hosting the kidush fol-
lowing the service will be
past presidents Irving
Adler, Louis Ellenbogen,
Fred Erlebacher, William
Genser, Benoit Gorge,
Menasche Haar, Dr.
Harry Newman, Sigmund
Lowenthal, Henry Thu-

Flint businessman
Hyman Podolsky died
Dec. 7 at age 88.
Born in Kiev Russia,
Mr. Podolsky lived most
of his life in Flint. He
managed the first floor of
the former Seitner's store
for-13 years and later
went into business for
himself.
He was a charter
member of Temple Beth
El, a life member of the
Genesee Lodge of the Ma-
sons and a member of the
Bay City Scottish Rite,
the Elf Khurafeh Shrine
Temple and Bnai Brith.
He resided at 2001 Oxford
Ln.
Mr. Podolsky is sur-
vived by his wife, Ethyl; a
son, Martin; two
daughters, Mrs. Kurt
Wall and Ruth of Detroit;
and one grandson.
