immediately dropped from
the competition and was
suspended from European

It will be interesting to
note the reaction of the
International Olympic
Committee concerning
the stand taken by the
Iron Curtain basketball
teams in view of the fact
that the 1980 World
Olympics are slated for
the USSR.

The return games will
be played Feb. 15 and 19

unusual procedure.

yeshivot "to help one
make an intelligent deci-
sion in selecting the right
yeshiva for himself."
In a preface to the 27-
page guide, the student
group cautions that "To-
rah does not come easily
to a person; he must work
hard so that it may be-
come part of him. This is
especially true if one
wants to learn in Eretz
Yisrael. From the very
start he will have to cope ,
with credits, language, L
adapting to a new envi-
ronment — and may for
the first time be far away
from home.
"Together with all the
packing and running
around, a person may be-
come easily discouraged."
The students contend
that when studying in Is-
, rael "the entire atmos-
phere is conducive to
learning," and that "de-
pending on one's back-
ground, entire tractates
can be completed within
10 months.'
In putting the publica-
tion together, they state
"we have tried to make
_sure that the information
comes from first hand
sources and is as accurate
as possible."
They caution, however,
that the guide should not
be the final basis for
choosing a yeshiva, be-
cause "certain aspects of
Israeli yeshivot can dr-'
tically change from y
to year. This is especi
true with regard to stu-
dent composition f:,nd
teaching staff. A yeshiva
may have moved or ex-
panded; it may now only
admit Israelis."
Copies of the guide may
be obtained by writing to
