John S. Mail, Telephone Campaign Starts A coordinated mail and telephone solicitation campaign designed to in- crease the number of pledges for the Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel Emergency Fund, is now underway. "Operation Recovery," chaired by AJC-IEF co- chairman Phillip Stollman, is designed to bring to public attention a variety of essential services to those in need, both here and in Israel. Former AJC-IEF con- tributors and potential givers have been con- tacted by mail and asked to confirm their commit- ment to the Jewish com- munity. The mailings will be followed by telephone calls next week, Stollman said. More than 150 vol- unteers will seek Cam- paign gifts by phone dur- ing the telethon.
