One-Pot Cooking
101
From
Productions/Scribner's,
the San Francisco pub-
lishing house, comes an
interesting volume for
the housewife, "One Pot
Meals," in which the au- .
thor, Margaret Gin,
shows how one-pot cook-
ery conserves time, fuel
and fuss, at the same time
preserving the flavor and
nutritional values of
foods.
This is an interesting
guidebook for the house-
wife, and while the
Jewish cook must be on
guard to assure that kas-
hrut is not violated in the
contents of a good cook-
book, it has merit for all.
The book contains 230
recipes for dishes which
can be cooked in a single
pot yet comprise a com-
plete meal. Variations are
then given for adapting
the recipe to the many
different types of cook-
ware on the market to-
day.
