These Hanuka cookies
can be made with
Fleishmann's Margarine.
It is from 100 per cent
corn oil. Fleishmann's is
low in saturated fats,
high in polyunsaturates,
and contains no choles-
terol. It comes in sweet,
regular (lightly salted),
soft and diet forms, and it
is kosher. •

1 cup ( 1/2 lb.)
Fleishmann's Margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups sifted flour
1 /2 tsp. salt
1 /2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. flavoring — vanilla
and/or almond
Cream the butter well; beat in
the sugar gradually. Beat in the
egg. Beat now until mixture is
puffing with air. Add the dry in-
gredients, sifted together, a Ittle
at a time, adding the liquid (in-
cluding the vanilla) whenever it

spreading, bake on an ungreased
cookie sheet; bake in a quick oven
(375°F) 8-10 minutes.. Makes
about 4 dozen cookies.

the fat content by 33%
(1/3), while retaining the
full flavor and texture of
their regular products.
U.S. Government stan-
dards allow a maximum of
30% fat in frankfurters,
knackwurst, and bologna
products. The lower fat
products made by the Best
Kosher Sausage Co. have
no more than a 20% fat
content. This substantial
fat reduction serves to
increase protein and
lower the calorie content
significantly.

As winter officially ap-
proaches, we seldom
think of fresh fruit corn-
pote as a dessert. But it is
still possible to enjoy
fresh fruit at this time of
year also, and indeed you
might like to try this de-
ssert as a welcome
change.

1 and 3/4 cups orange juice
2 tbsps. lemon juice
1/4 (scant) cup sugar
4 oranges, peeled and sectioned
3 large grapefruits, peeled and
sectioned
1 pineapple, cut in wedges
3 pears, peeled and sliced
2 apples (unpeeled), cut in small
wedges
Mix juices and sugar, stirring
until well blended. Combine fruit.
Pour juice over fruit. Serves 6.
