Venezuela will be the
first three communities
to which American Heb-
rew Day School
techniques will be trans-
planted, according to
Samuel C. Feuerstein,
national president.
Dr. Joseph Kaminetsky,
Torah Umesorah's na-
tional director, in his re-
port to those in atten-
dance, emphasized that
the first segment of Torah
Umesorah's five-year plan
will concentrate on the
Sephardic communities in
Latin America.
Dr. Kaminetsky also
reported that the Hebrew
Day School movement in
the United States now
numbers about 450
schools in 36 states and
170 communities with a
student population of
82,000. Canada has an ad-
ditional 52 schools with
another 11,000 students.
Parents, teachers, ad-
ministrators and com-
munity leaders repre-
senting many of the Heb-
rew day schools of the
U.S. and Canada will
gather at the Lido Beach
Hotel in New York, De-
cember 10-14, for the 1976
National Convention of
the National Association
of Hebrew Day School

Friends of the Hebrew
University Sunday at the
Essex House.
The subject of his ad-
dress will be the 1976
Presidential election and
its implications for Israel.
Also, Chaim Herzog, Is-
raeli Ambassador to the
United Nations, will be
the guest speaker at an
AFHU dinner Sunday at
the Essex House.
The dinner is in honor
of Julian B. Venezky,
chairman of the board of
the AFHU, who will re-
ceive the AFHU Scopus
Award.
