Chabad "Dedication Month"

IRWIN I. COHN
Chairman, Michigan Chabad

MRS. EMMA SCHAVER
Concert Chairman

The Chabad-Lubavitch organization of Michigan
has declared November 14 to December 12 as "Dedica-
tion Month" for the University of Michigan Chabad
House student center in Ann Arbor.
The "Dedication Month" is in conjunction with the
celebration of the seventy-fifth birthday of the world
Jewish leader, the Lubavitcher Rebbe (Rabbi
Menachem M. Schneerson) and is tied in with the cur-
rent "Torah Education Year" proclaimed by him.
A crowded calendar of exciting events highlights the
"Chabad House Dedication Month" — three noted
speakers, two concerts and the Dedication ceremonies
themselves. Mrs. Jan Peerce was the featured speaker
at the first lecture on Sunday, November 14 at the
home of Mr. & Mrs. Fred Ferber of W. Bloomfield.
Monday, November 22, Rabbi Zalman I. Posner of
Nashville, Tennessee spoke at the home of Mr. & Mrs.
Jack Shenkfnan.
Rabbi Posner elec-
trified-the large audience
with his brilliant descrip-
tion of Judaism's true re-
spect for the woman as
contrasted with Aineri-
can Society's lip-service
"liberation" but deep-
down contempt for wo-
man's integrity and indi-
vidual identity.

Final lecture of the series will be given next week at the home of Mr. & Mrs. David
Hermelin, on Monday, November 29. The speaker will be Dr. Bernard Mandelbaum,
President of the America Israel Cultural Commission and the topic will be "From
Generation to Generation; Survival."
"Crown Jewel" of the month's events is the Ninth Annual "Hassidic. Happening"
Concert in Ford Auditorium on Wednesday, December 1st at 7:30 p.m.
Guest artist this year
is New York singer-
entertainer "Mordechai
