JERUSALEM — The
first charter flight to ar-
rive in Israel from the
West Coast of the U.S.
landed Monday at Ben-
Gurion Airport.
Some 250 Americans,
including Los Angeles
Mayor Tom Bradley and
his wife came on the
World Airways charter.
They were welcomed by
Tourism Minister Moshe
Kol and by hostesses who
gave them each Israel's
national hats — the kova
tembel.
Bradley expressed the
wish that the success of
the first charger flight
would lead to strengthen-
ing the economy of Israel,
by encouraging more
tourism, and would
strengthen the ties be-
tween the peoples of both
countries.

Kosher Restaurant

MIAMI BEACH —
Miami Beach's newest
kosher restaurant, the
Golden Grill, opened Sun-
day in the Saxony Hotel.
Berkowitz Associates will
operate the new restau-
rant under the supervi-
sion of the Union of Or-
thodox Jewish Congrega-
tions.
Abbey Berkowitz, pres-
ident of the 400-room
Saxony, said the Golden
Grill will be open to the
general public as well as
to hotel guests daily.
Service will be modified
a la carte, including a com-
plete salad bar, soups and
beverages. Desserts may
be ordered from display
carts, and a wide range of
appetizers will be avail-
able.
Larry Salkind, catering
manager of the Saxony
Hotel and a restaurateur
who has had extensive
hotel and restaurant ex-
perience in Florida, New
York and New Jersey, will
oversee the Golden Grill
operation.

Israel Music
Festival Slated

Its

ISRAEL — As part of
the annual Israel Festi-
val, the Ein Gev Music
Festival will take place
April 4-9.
Leonard Bernstein will
conduct the Israel
Philharmonic Orchestra
playing Beethoven and
some of his own works.
Other concerts will fea-
ture the Jerusalem Sym-
phony Orchestra con-
ducted by Lukas Foss,
with Soloist Lorin Hol-
lander; the famous Bat
Dor Dance Company, the
Gevathron Choir and a
program of performances
entitled "Music in the
Kibutz".
