number of speakers, in-
cluding Bruce Moss, pres-
ident of the Great Lakes
AZA, who injected one of
the few references of the
evening to the Jewish as-
pects of the event with his
description of the purpose
of the Bnai Brith Youth
Organization.
Lisa Garber, president,
Great Lakes Bnai Brith
Girls Council, presented a
bouquet of flowers to Mrs.
Easlick, and Marla Magy,
president Wayne State
University Hillel Found-
ation Student Council,
expressed her apprecia-
tion.
Schwartz prasised Eas-
lick_for his involvement in
humanitarian causes and
introduced Ray W. Mac-
Donald, chairman of the
board of Vie Burroughs
Corp., who also spoke of
Easlick's background and
communal involvement.
Senator-elect Donald
Riegle was also called
upon to speak. Riegle
spoke of the nature and
significance of the Bnai
Brith award.
Dr. William Haber, hon-
orary chairman of the Bnai
Brith Hillel Commission
and vice president
emeritus of the University
of Michigan, gave a
lengthy speech in a
humorous vein on various
topics including the sig-
nificance of the Hillel
Foundation.
Haber praised Easlick
for his many communal
accomplishments and
presented him with the
Humanitarian Award
medallion. Easlick gave a
short expression of
thanks.
The dinner began with
Cantor Harold Orbach
singing the national
anthem and Rabbi M.
Robert Syme giving" the
invocation. The Very
Reverend Malcolm Car-.
ron, S.J., president of
the University of Detroit,
gave the prayer for peace,
and Rev. Robert F.
McGregor, rector, Christ
Episcopal Church of
Grosse Pointe delivered
the benediction. Cantor
Orbach also entertained
with a musical selection.
