1 rIC UCIRVI I JETTI3r1 IrM113 SAM BARNETT Readers Forum Kashrut Question AND HIS ORCHESTRA Editor, The Jewish News; Now that we all have heard from the Rabbi . . . "that in today's sophisti- cated, highly mechanized food industry, many in- gredients are put into a product that are not listed among the ingre- dients on the label" may I be permitted to comment briefly. Since the Rabbi made such a sweeping state- ment, it should be easy for him to enumerate a few instances in which ingre- dients are added to a food item without appearing on the label. I, for one, would be particularly in- terested in the hidden in- gredients of trefe cornstarch. We live in a time, in which people want to know what is going on, and it is incumbent upon the Rabbi to furnish the public with the facts as they apply to rabbinical supervision. 968-2563 SPECIAL SALE! They felt they were providing the best and safest care for their child. These baby boys are cir- cumcized mostly on the third or fourth day and sent home the following day with their mothers. I fet so sorry for these mis- led young mothers. Mrs. Byron Krieger * 7:00 A.M. There is, one may safely assume, a cost factor in- volved in supervision and in order to be above re- proach, it would be wise to have a well informed pub- lic. Kurt Bauer 543-6488 Editor, The Jewish News: Much as Israel ap- preciates American help, and being the beneficiary of this country's bounty, we are also the benefac- for of the United States. Israel is an unsinkable aircraft carrier in the midsts of that vital area which stands like a bain in haldz (bone in the throat) to the Soviets. But for Israel, America would probably need in that region a mass of ships and armament to further the containing of the Soviets. May I commend for your inspiration and that of your vast readership the following revised ver- sion of our own Star- Spangled Banner, second stanza: (sung to the tune of Hatikva) Oh thus be it ever when Israel shall stand, Between her loved homes and the war's desolation Blessed with victory and peace may the Heaven-rescued land P.raise Hashem Y isborakh who made and preserved her a nation. Then conquer she must for her cause is just And this be her motto in Hashem is our trust, And the blue star of David in triumph shall waive O'er Eretz Yisroel, the home of the brave. M.
