Beth Israel Plans Plaques Dedication Arab Investments in U.S. • • • Securities Reported Growing NEW YORK — The New York Stock Ex- change reports that Arabs are buying all kinds of U.S. securities, mostly the kind that gives them a measuio of control of corporations — stock. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is seen as the largest net purch- aser of U.S. securities. In 1973 many of the invest- ments went into short- term debt securities and government issues. But in late 1974, the banks doing the investing for the Mideast countries, especially those in the U.S., were instructed to go into longer-term in- vestments. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Gerald L. Parsky said there was no alarm in Washington over the shifts from short-term to long-term stocks. He Defense Minister Shi- mon Peres said recently that there will be a number of such exercises, all of them being an- nounced in advance so as not to alarm the public. 1 Flint People Make News Esta Mitchell has been appointed by Mayor James W.
