victory over the Ukrai-
nians by spraying
benzine-gas on the
houses in the Jewish
ghetto, which was twenty
years before the Germans
used it in the Warsaw
ghetto, burning alive 100
men, women, children,
may I take exception with
the final act of "Fiddler
on the Roof."
My parents fortunately
did not live in the ghetto,
but in spite of the fact
that I was only nine years
old (our house was not far
from the ghetto), I'll
never forget the screams
and shrieks of the unfor-
tunate people which were
burned alive.
"Fiddler on the Roe!" is
being viewed by the entire
American community, who
have a sense for "fair
play." Many still cannot
understand the reasons
behind pogroms. It is dif-
ficult for them to accept
the fact that being Jewish
was the only reason.
The producers of "Fid-
dler" could have done a
great service to the
Jewish people in portray-
ing the pogrom of
Anatefka in such a way
that it should serve as an
example never to be re-
peated again.

review of "Fiddler on the
Roof" on page 2 which
expresses similar indigna-
tion.).
